Karyn Gimbel Youso is a family law attorney and mediator committed to creative problem-solving and low-conflict dispute resolution. For more than 30 years, she has helped clients achieve successful outcomes in all aspects of their family law matters including divorce and paternity cases. She acts as mediator for unrepresented couples as well as those who prefer working with advocate attorneys.
A proud supporter of the Southeastern Wisconsin community, Karyn has been involved with multiple professional and philanthropic organizations over her career. She served on the Boards of the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin and the Collaborative Law Foundation, and on the Public Education Committee of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She is currently serving out her second term on the Board of the State Bar of Wisconsin Family Law Section, and previously served on the Wisconsin Governor’s Council on Domestic Abuse – Justice Committee Batterers’ Treatment Certification and Standards Workgroup.
Karyn earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and law degree from Washington University School of Law (in St. Louis). She has three college-aged daughters and spends much of her free time volunteering for various nonprofit organizations.
After 21 years of marriage Karyn went through her own divorce, and knows all the emotional turmoil it can bring to a family. She brings what she learned from this experience to her work, and takes pride in helping clients get through their own life transitions, to a better place.
